Kevin Love did it at the Les Shaub tournament they delay the game and get a new hoop with all the money and connections it doesn't usually take more than a day i don't think
That is a good question, I can always idmange that they would get in trouble. But I would think that they would have to get somebody to clean up the message. But I don't think that it has ever happened before. But the possibiltes that it could happen, but good thing that if it has happened, that it has been ver rare, now for the hoop they would see if they can get back on there, or game play might be suspened.
I'm pretty sure they have a delay until the hoop is fixed. It's unfortunate when it breaks though.

Jordan never broke the glass but Shaq did rip down an entire hoop backstop. What happens is the game is delayed or postponed until it can be fixed.
they just have to wait and put up a new backboard and rim and the game continues
